Focusing on Precision Maintenance rather than Chasing Volume

Top of the Hill, Niagara, WI
Next to Doug's Hilltop Lanes and Lounge

Hours - April through August 2011

We're down to one owner, wrench, custodian for the upcoming season, 2011.

Bike season 2011 will likely look a little different for the shop. I am contemplating opening just two days per week, Thursday and Friday afternoons. The bridge project has effected some area businesses tremendously and I will gauge the effect on BikeWorks through May and decide what the summer's hours will be. In the meantime, please don't hesitate to call or email me and arrange a time to drop off a bike or just to come in and look around.

We offer free estimates as always.

The shop phone is on "vacation" until May, so please call 906.282.5106 or email me at bikeworks@gmail.com to arrange a time to meet. Of course I'll be at the shop on my days off getting prepared for 2011 with remodeling and merchandising.

Ride For Red a Success

Eleven riders braved the chilly morning and rode for the American Red Cross' local office. $255 was raised for the ARC. The temperatures started off in the low thirties and warmed to a "comfortable" 40 something. Everyone seemed to enjoy each other's company. Kath Peterson provided some great treats and hot coffee and hot chocolate at the Peminee River Bridge (Peme Bon Won River). Talk was encouraging to repeat the effort next October with an annual color ride and fund raiser for the Red Cross.

Ride for Red
(and gold, yellow and orange too)

Join us for a fun, colorful ride on Saturday October 4th. Enjoy the peak of the fall color pallette. We'll meet at 9:30am at Niagara's Heights Park (behind city hall).

All rides depart at 10am, rain or shine, warm or cold.

Before we leave on the ride a “free-will” offering will be accepted to support the efforts of our local American Red Cross office. One of the many tasks that volunteers at the Red Cross perform is making sure that this area’s firefighters are well fed and hydrated during structure fires in Dickinson and Marinette Counties. A hot cup of coffee and a sandwich goes a long way during a late night fire during freezing weather. And a cool drink and sandwich is very much appreciated during a hot summer day. In addition, our local chapter of the Red Cross made sure after the horrible shooting at the Menominee River bridge that the over one-hundred law enforcement officers in the area had the nourishment needed to sustain them during the overnight lock-down.

  • 35 Miles
The long ride will take US Hwy 141 to Wishman Road and on to Timm's Lake (Morgan County Park), enjoy a rest stop with some food and refreshments, then proceed through Pembine and back to Niagara via County Roads OO, O and N.
  • 21 Miles
This medium lenght ride will take us "out and back" via County Roads N and O with a rest stop at the Peminee River Bridge.
  • 16 miles
This shorter ride follows the same route as the 21 miler but returns after a rest stop at the Peminee River Bridge.

Registration
Just send an email by noon on Thursday, October 2nd to bikeworks@gmail.com and note the number of riders that will join us. If you can't pre-register just join us and bring your own refreshments.
